Get Ready to Embrace the Sun, Mahindra Thar ROXX to Provide Sunroof in Every Variant

The Mahindra Thar ROXX will likely have two engine options available: a diesel and a petrol. It will probably have two engines: a 2.2-liter turbo-petrol with 150 PS and a 2.2-liter diesel with 132 PS, but with more power. 

Mahindra is getting ready to introduce the 5-door Thar ROXX, which would be the company’s next primary offering in India, on August 15, 2024. Many spies and leaked photos have revealed that the Thar ROXX will come with many high-end features far beyond those found on the current 3-door variant. The latest official teaser revealed that the off-road vehicle will have a panoramic sunroof. A leaked video of the mid-spec model also revealed that the lower-spec models will also have a standard sunroof.

Inside the cabin

The Thar ROXX top-spec model will have a cabin brimming with features. Among the anticipated features are a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control. 

Under the hood

The Mahindra Thar ROXX will likely have two engine options available: a diesel and a petrol. Both an automatic and a six-speed manual gearbox are anticipated to be offered. The Thar ROXX will come with the option of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Price-tag and rivals

It is anticipated that the forthcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar ROXX will cost approximately Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a more extensive alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door.

Sales figure in July

Moving on to Mahindra’s performance in the market, Mahindra declared that in July 2024, it sold 41,623 automobiles in India. This represents a 15% year-over-year increase, as the brand sold 36,205 items during the same time last year. On the other hand, Mahindra’s exports have decreased by 40% from the same month the previous year. In terms of Thar’s sales figures, the diesel versions of the Thar alone accounted for 5,207 of the 5,750 units sold in May 2024. Conversely, 543 units of the petrol variants were sold. The company sold 1,106 and 3,190 units of diesel and petrol Thar over the same time previous year.
